Fobia seeks to inspire others with a positive and impactful message. Like he once did and continues to do so, in order to achieve your greatest visions and fulfill your life potential, you must first face your fears in life. Acknowledge them. Admit to them. Then strategically take the necessary steps required to overcome them. Take control of your life. Set goals and then take the actions necessary to achieve them. Your greatest visions can become reality. The life you always wanted to live can be yours to have. So says Fobia.
The origins of Fobia can be traced back many years to a college dormitory room in Boise, Idaho. Fobia, then known as Shawn, discovered that the bumps on his face and the nauseated feeling he felt for two consecutive weeks was not what he originally thought. No, he was not suffering the side effects of stress from school. Rather, he had been bitten repeatedly by spiders. There lied a spider nest directly beneath his dorm room bed. Yes, these little creatures were living with him and made their home not just in his DORM ROOM but literally directly UNDER HIS BED!!! This caused Dr Shawn to develop a severe fear of spiders.
A few months had passed since the spider attacks had taken place and right around another Halloween, trying to decide what character he wanted to portray, Dr Shawn began painting various designs on his face with face paint. In the midst of doing this, his biggest fear of all appeared in his mind: the fear of spiders. So, he painted a spider design that covered his entire face.
Once Dr Shawn had finished his facial artwork that night, he stared at his reflection in the mirror. One word came to his mind, and he muttered it over and over again with deep emotion. That word was phobia.
At that moment, Dr Shawn considered the spider emblem painted on his face to be a reflection of not just his own personal fear of spiders, but all the fears that he had grown up with and developed through the course of his childhood, teenage, and now young adult life. Thus Fobia was born.
Fobia first made his presence known in Boise, Idaho, appearing on local television news talking about safety awareness for kids when trick or treating. Dr Shawn used this footage to send to the WWE and this character is essentially what got him his initial tryout with the company. He later became the wrestling characters Meat, Perfect Shawn, Planet Stasiak, and Shawn Stasiak. Dr Shawn never portrayed Fobia on TV for either major wrestling company that he worked for, WWE or WCW. It has become clear now as to why Fobia never came to fruition as a wrestling character.
Fobia had a greater mission to go beyond the context of just another wrestling character. It is Fobia’s destiny to be brought to the attention of millions of people on an international level as an inspirational speaker. He is a comic book character come to life SUPERHERO that has a profound and positive message: face your fear and embrace whatever it is, acknowledge it, stand up to it, and realize that a fear is only a thought made up in your mind about something. That thought can be changed in an instant. Take control of your fear or fears and overcome them, and then, and only then, you will take charge of your life.
Most people in the world are paralyzed by their fears. Fears manifest in many forms. For some it is the fear of failure. For others it is the fear of success. There is also the fear of external things such as spiders, snakes, the dark, public speaking, crowds of people, and heights to name only a few.
Dr Shawn on a personal note has lived his life in fear on so many levels. He has had his share of success along with hardships, let downs, disappointments, and grievances. But ultimately Dr Shawn has lived with fears his whole life.
However, over time, Dr Shawn was tired of being held down, paralyzed from his ultimate success and being kept from living his highest, authentic self. Dr Shawn is finally at a real crossroads and realizes now through clarity and a clear cut vision that the only way to live is to acknowledge your fears by being completely honest with yourself, admit to what they are, embrace it or them, and then take the necessary steps it truly takes to overcome them. Ultimately, fear is what keeps most of the world living in mediocrity, full of frustration, anxiety, depression, self loathing, a sense of defeat, low or no energy, lack of ambition, visions, dreams, and or goals. That is no way to live.
Through this evolution of self-realization, Dr Shawn has transcended a real life depiction of how he had once lived his life for so many years… in fear. And has now taken a piece of this former reality into a creative charismatic, colorful, and theatrical expression that has emerged stronger than ever…..The SUPERHERO Fobia. Now, Fobia is eager to share his words of wisdom with audiences of all ages.
